German Neighborhood Harvest

We have an empty lot next to our house. The grass/weeds had grown there freely all spring and summer. Just a few weeks ago a tractor showed up to cut it down and then another one to bale it up. It was an interesting process to watch. We took these pictures out of our second floor window. One of the most interesting aspects of the whole process was the antiquated-tractor-scooter-pitchfork team that showed up to pick up the bales.  Just an interesting, quirky aspect of German life.

  1. That is very interesting about the empty lot next to your house. It didn't have high grass when we were there...it was covered in snow. I saw the story from the previous people that lived there. Graet blog!
